Welke Customs & Logistics started out 35+ years ago as a family owned customs brokerage. Our company is currently comprised of three divisions: Our Canadian customs brokerage (Welke Customs Brokers Ltd.), our American Customs Brokerage (Welke Customs Brokers USA), and our freight forwarding division (Welke Global Logistics).Â
A few years ago, we noticed our freight forwarding division was relatively small and had not reached its full potential. We made the decision to focus on growing Welke Global and establishing our freight forwarding division as one of the top freight forwarding services in Canada.Â
The turning point in our journey came during the COVID-19 pandemic when supply chain disruptions rocked the global logistics industry. Instead of being deterred by the challenges, we saw an opportunity. We quickly pivoted and adapted to the new environment by exploring innovative solutions. We committed ourselves to moving cargo efficiently and safely, making sure each and every one of our clients felt confident using our services.
Our dedication paid off as we gained a significant market share during those challenging times. We were able to turn adversity into an advantage and become a trusted partner for clients who needed reliability and agility more than ever.
As the world gradually recovered from the pandemic, we leveraged the volume and experience we had gained during those intense months. We made the decision to offer our freight services to our existing customs brokerage clients. This strategic move expanded our offerings and strengthened our relationships with our loyal clients.
The development of our single technology platform
As we worked towards growing Welke Global, we developed a singular piece of technology to benefit our clients across all three divisions. We understand that efficiency and transparency are paramount in the modern logistics landscape. So, we created a seamless and user-friendly technology portal where our clients could easily track their shipments and customs processes in one place. This innovation ultimately streamlined our operations and enhanced the overall client experience.
